ABOUT LAURA BINNS INTERIORS

Laura Binns is an interior designer based in North West London working in Highgate, Hampstead, Tufnell Park, Dartmouth Park, Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Kentish Town and surrounding areas.

Her passion for interior design started with her dolls house. As a small child she became obsessed with making accessories, rearranging the furniture, adding wallpapers and rugs.  It is a passion that has carried with her throughout her life.

Since arriving in London over 20 years ago from her native Australia, Laura has worked in and around the creative industries, including architecture.  It was whilst working in architecture that she realised that for her the importance of buildings is not just the structure, but how the internal spaces are used and lived in day to day.

In 2007, and with a passion for British made products,  Laura launched Roost living which became a go to site for hand crafted homewares from British makers such as Charlene Mullen, Thornback and Peel and Rory Dobner.  But working in the retail side of interiors didn’t quench Laura’s thirst for creativity and in 2017 she returned to study Interior Design at the Interior Design School in London.  She have been loving helping clients ever since.

She prides herself on being highly responsive to the brief, carefully understanding the client’s own sense of style while using her expertise, eye and experience to create a harmonious space, utterly personal to each client.

She believes her role is to enhance and compliment the architecture and in every project she undertakes she delves into the history of the house, researching and understanding it in order to create a space that is in keeping with its soul.

In every choice she makes, each item of furniture, every light, every colour, texture and fitting she is am mindful of creating authentic interiors with purpose and beauty.  She mixes old with new, layering textures and colours, and always choose classics over more fashionable items.

For Laura home is sanctuary; a place to feel relaxed and restful, a place to escape the chaos of the world around us, and above all, a place to feel stillness and calm and she tries to capture this feeling in all the interiors she designs.

She looks forward to helping you make your house, your home.

She really worked to the brief, and I couldn't be happier with the space that I live in every day. It's been a true pleasure from initial vision to end result.
